[Review] Clio Kill Black Pen Liner
Saturday, October 3, 2015
So I decided to do a full post and video review because I felt this product deserved it. It's one of my holy grail products and I know it's holy grail material from a lot of other people too! It's the CLIO Kill Black Pen Liner!
Let's get to the breakdown...
So besides the couple of pictures I'll upload in this post, I'm going to let the video speak for itself. Overall, this pen liner is amazing. I have the felt tip version and I know there's also a brush tip version. The brush tip is cheaper. It's so accurate and is great for those of you who are just starting out with liquid liner. There's so much control to this tip and it's so opaque! Plus, this liner lasts all day. There's nothing I don't love about this liner!
You can also achieve thick or thin lines with this. So in the inner corner of your eye, you can get really close to the lash line and also make a nice thick wing :)

Clio is definitely emerging as one of my favorite Korean makeup brands. They're products are great, last all day, and look fantastic. Here's one of my recent favorites: the Clio Gelpresso Waterproof Eyeshadow Stick in Bottoms Up.
Let's get to the breakdown...
Packaging
Let's get to the breakdown...
Packaging
The packaging of this is very functional. It's simple and has the shade color on the tube, which is great when your rummaging through your makeup and trying to find it!
Shade
I have the shade in "Bottoms Up" and I love it. It's the perfect bronze color and looks amazing! I can't wait to try more shades of these because I'm sure they'll be amazing as well!
Lasting Ability
This stays on all day like you wouldn't believe!! It definitely gives my makeup removers a run for their money.
Blendability
This eyeshadow stick is creamy so it glides on nicely and doesn't pull at the skin. However, if you're planning on blending this out, do one eye at a time. This is because once it sets, this stuff doesn't budge.

Hi guys. So I promise, I'm trying to be better about updating this blog. It's really difficult considering I run everything by myself and I'm planning my trip for Korea (I leave later this month!). Anyways, enough excuses. Here's the follow up post for the haul that I did from Insider Beauty.
Disclaimer: I was sent all these products from InsiderBeauty to review, but they're not paying me to review them. As always, you guys are very important to me so my reviews are always honest!
Disclaimer: I was sent all these products from InsiderBeauty to review, but they're not paying me to review them. As always, you guys are very important to me so my reviews are always honest!
Let's get to the breakdown of the haul...
Missha Super Aqua Cell Renew Snail Sleeping Mask
I've said this a thousand times, but I love the idea of my skincare working overtime in my sleep. Who doesn't love the idea of waking up with amazing skin? This was sent to me as a recommendation from InsiderBeauty and we'll see if this lives up to the hype! It's part of Missha's super popular "Super Aqua" line and it also has snail filtrate in it so we'll see!
Primera Peeling Facial Mild Broccoli Sprout Peeling Gel
I've been trying to test out of bunch of peeling gels for you guys so I can recommend some so this is definitely a contender. Don't worry about the broccoli sprout idea though! It smells very nice :)
Leaders Insolution Moisturizing Recovery Mask
I've actually tried these masks before these two were sent to me and I can say that I already really like them! They're gel masks, so they hold hydration longer that standard sheet masks. Also, if you've never used these before, be sure to remove the film from BOTH sides. I did know this the first time I used it and accidentally left one film on and couldn't figure out why it was so stiff.lol.
Leaders Insolution Baby Soft Hand Mask
I can't wait to try these! I've never tried hand masks and have always been fascinated by them since I suffer from perpetually dry skin from my obsessive hand-washing.
Peri's Tint Crayon in #04 Fruity Love
This color is so nice for the summer! It's such a lovely pink color and the formula is actually nice and moisturizing as well. I love this because my lips are forever dry :(
Banila Co. Clean it Zero Cleansing Balm
This is a holy grail item for me. This is the BEST makeup remover I've ever used. My mom even loves this stuff and when we visit Korea at the end of this month, we'll probably buy, like, 20 tubs.
The texture is so smooth and just emulsifies as soon as it touches your skin. I actually ENJOY removing my makeup when I use this!
Goodal Mild Protect Watery Sun Cream 30 SPF
Goodal is a brand I've never tried and they focus on "fermented beauty". I don't know what to think about this because it's intimidating thinking I'm putting rotten things on my face... but considering I've tried scarier things (ahem, snail slime anyone?) I'm actually ready to try this! Plus, I can always use sunscreens :)
CLIO Kill Black Pen Liner and Gelpresso Waterproof Shadow in "Bottoms Up"
These are the gems of this haul! Last but not least, I'd like to present to you these beauties from CLIO! I'm really starting to LOVE CLIO products and think I'll buy a bunch of stuff from the while I'm in Korea. These both last all day are glide right onto my eyelids... just like they were meant to be there :)
Want to see how the liner performs and a formal review! Check out my video on it!
Anyways guys, I hope you enjoyed this haul! I've been doing a lot of haul posts lately, but fear not, I'll be back to posting other things soon!
xoxo,
Morgan
PS. Just wanted to say I LOVE you guys :)

Ah, so this begins the 2 weeks of reviews everyday! For my first post in this series, I'm going to be reviewing their Clio Virgin Kiss Lipnicure in #8 Guilty Pink. Even though they're mainly known for their eye makeup, I wanted to give this product a go!
This first caught my eye while I was browsing in the Clio Store when I saw their bright display of all the beautiful, super pigmented colors. I'd heard some mixed reviews so I knew I wanted to try one myself. I picked this color in particular because it's unique, bright, and a color I think would look good on every skintone.
Let's look at:
The packaging...
The applicator...
The color and formula...

I'd heard some mixed reviews so I knew I wanted to try one myself. I picked this color in particular because it's unique, bright, and a color I think would look good on every skintone.
Let's look at:
The packaging...
I really love the packaging of this lip stain. It's cute, chic, and looks just like a little bottle of nail polish.
The color, which is like I mentioned, #8 Guilty Pink.
Here's a picture of the box if you're interested!
The Korean on the side of the box....
The top of the box, which tells you what color you're buying.
The applicator...
Whoa, this applicator is awesome. I love how it curves to your lips, which helps apply the color more evenly, and that it also has a somewhat pointed tip, which helps you apply it more accurately. This applicator is so nice and accurate, I actually don't find myself using a lip liner with it! It's also pretty sturdy, so it doesn't bend when you're using it!
The color and formula...
Like I said, I love this color. It looks nice on my skin tone and I can tell it would work well for others too. The swatch below is a pretty accurate depiction of what it looks like in real life, so it's VERY bright! And it's nice and opaque. As far as the formula goes, it's actually very creamy when you initially apply it. After it dries, it does feel a little dry. Nothing a quick layer of balm on the top of couldn't fix! It also, surprisingly, dries to a fairly matte finish, which I wasn't aware of until I started wearing it.
The wear of the formula
OK, I'm going to be totally honest. I really want to give this lip stain an awesome review. But it's doesn't wear super nice. After a couple hours (or eating/drinking) you can see where it starts to peel/wear off. Sorry for the awkward pic, but I really wanted you to see how it wears off on the inside of the lips. However, I'm a little hesitant to dock to many points off because I have NEVER found a lip stain that wears off nicely. That's pretty much how they come off. Of course, in a perfect world, the lipstick would come off all at once and gracefully come off. But that's just not the nature of lip stains. So it's really up to your judgement!

Pt. 2 Haul From Seoul, Korea! Makeup and Cosmetics (Etude House, Skin Food, Holika Holika, and MORE)
Tuesday, August 5, 2014
Alrighty! Here's the second part of my haul from Korea! I'm obsessed with all the goodies I bought and I think I've even found some new favorites :) Want to see what all the makeup I bought while I was in Korea?! Watch the video below or scroll down :) Also, don't forget to see Pt. 1 of my haul which is all the Korean Skincare I bought! So much good stuff :) Be sure to join the email list and subscribe to my channel, The Beauty Breakdown, in order to be updated on when I add the final part of my Korean haul...the fashion part!!
Here are the products I bought from TONY MOLY. I obsessed with the adorable animal themed packaging.
I wasn't planning on buying anything from CLIO, but these products caught my attention so I decided to pick them up!
Some of the random stuff I bought. I believe the Modi nail polish is from Aritaum, the eyebrow kit is from Olive Young, and the lipstick is from The Saem (G-Dragon's Global Eco Red Lipstick).
So that's it for Part 2 of my Korean Haul! Hope you enjoyed seeing all the makeup I bought and like I said, don't forget to check out the first part which includes all the skincare I bought! Part 3 will feature all the fashion buys :) Let me know if you want any specific reviews on any of the products I bought!
xoxo, Morgan
Now for the close up pictures :)
So much good stuff! I love how Korean makeup is so unique but affordable at the same time! I'm always down to try new makeup products! I broke the products up by the stores I bought them from! First, let's start with ETUDE HOUSE!
I was so excited when I was in Korea checking out the new line from Etude House, Lock 'N Summer. The products are supposed to be long lasting and are all "cushion" type products. From this line, I bought:
Etude House Lock 'N Summer (from left to right):
- Lock 'N Summer Cushion Blusher in "Heyo Pink" PK002
- Lock 'N Summer Cushion Blusher in "Shake It Coral" OR201
- Lock 'N Summer Cushion Eyeliner in "Black" BK801
Here's what the inside of the products look like. As you can see, the product itself is encased in a sponge, which means....NO SPILLS! And since they're liquid-type products, they give the skin a dewy appearance.
Etude House Nail Polish (from left to right):
- Color Play! in "#240"
- Color Play! in "#22"
- Color Play! in "#244"
- Color Play! in "#114"
- Help my Finger Quick Dry Drop
Etude House Lippies:
- Etoinette Crystal Shine Lips in "PPK004"
-Sweet Recipe Dear my Jelly Lips Talk in "JPK002"
-Fresh Cherry Tint in "PK001"
- Vivid Pop Stick in #5 "Teenage Dream"
-Color Pop in P2 "Sunny Pop"
-Color Pop in P12 "Burgundy Pop"
A close up of the packaging for the Etoinette Crystal Shine Lips in "". Look how gorgeous this lipstick is! Not only do I love the packaging but I love how all Etude House lipsticks have their logo embossed on the side of the actual lipstick. SO pretty!
I've worn this Fresh Cherry Tint in "" a couple of times and so far, I REALLY love it! I actually want to buy more shades because I'm really enjoying this product :)
Here are a couple of products that I bought from the Color Pop Collection. I love how Korean makeup brands are coming out with more pigmented products! Also, I love that they had small "trial" version so you can see if you like the actual product/shade before committing to buy the full-sized product.
I'm curious about this product and want to see if this Natural Jelly Cleansing Puff from Etude house actually makes a difference in my skin. Review? I think yes once I try it out :)
Etude House Eye Products (from left to right):
- "Oh-m'Eye Line" Liquid Liner in "Black"
-Dr. Mascara Fixer in "Volume-Up"
MISSHA was having a half off sale on all their eyeliners during the time I visited Seoul. So why wouldn't I buy a couple to try?! :) Plus, they just came out with a new foundation that, I'm not going to lie, really caught my attention with its beautiful packaging.
Missha (from left to right):
- Geumsul Vitalizing BB Cake Cream Foundation
-Super-Extreme Waterproof Soft Pencil Eyeliner (Auto) in "Black"
-The Style Two-in-One Fit-in Gel Liner in "Cacao Star"
Here's what the actual products look like. I love how they had a line of gel eyeliners that have two colors in one! Talk about variety :)
This is Missha's new foundation! Their Geumsul Vitalizing BB Cake Cream Foundation. And yes, this product deserves alllll the pictures...look at that gorgeous packaging!
I can't wait to try this! It's supposed to be fairly light (despite the fact it has "cake" in its name) but have higher coverage than a typical BB cream. It also has an SPF of 40 PA ++.
This might not be a makeup product...but I just decided to include this into this part of the haul. I love the idea behind this brush and once I use it a little more I plan to do a more in-depth review.
Ahhhh SKIN FOOD.... I love you so much. I was super excited to see they also came out with a couple new product lines! Check it out!!
Skin Food (from left to right):
-Real Fresh Tint Juice in "#6"
-Salmon Dark Circle Concealer in shade "2"
-Hair Velcro
-Tomato Jelly Lip Tint
-White Grape Fresh Foundation in "Natural"
-Rose Essence Soft Cream Blusher in "2"
Here are the products I bought from TONY MOLY. I obsessed with the adorable animal themed packaging.
Tony Moly (from left to right, top to bottom):
-Backstage Gel Eyeliner
-Petite Bunny Gloss Bar in "02"
-Panda's Dream So Cool Eye Stick
-Panda's Dream Brightening Eye Base
Clio (from left to right):
- Lipnicure in #8 "Guilty Pink"
- Gelpresso Pencil Gel Liner Mini in "The Color of 2014"
The only product that I bought from Holika Holika is their Aqua Petit Jelly BB Cream. I heard so many positive reviews about the product so I had to try it!
