[HAUL] NARS Long Hot Summer 2016 Collection Haul

Wednesday, July 6, 2016

Hello everyone! Today I'm bringing you some new products from NARS... complete with a little review and pictures of both the products! Yay for summer collections, yes?? :)
Let's get to the breakdown...
NARS Laguna / Casino Bronzing Powder Duo
When I first opened this duo, I was surprised because both powders look really similar. However, I've had these for a couple weeks now and I'm confident in saying they are fairly different.
On the left side, there's Laguna. Laguna is the famous matte bronzer that works for pretty much every single skin tone. It's a really nice shade and it's super easy to work with!
On the right side, there's Casino. You can see that has a slightly warmer tone and is also very easy to work with. I'd say that Laguna is better for contouring while Casino is better for bronzing (carrying up onto the cheeks). I think these are both really nicely pigmented and smooth.
I couldn't find the bronzing duo online (they might be sold out :( ) so here's links for the bronzers seperately. (affiliate links)

NARS Long Hot Summer Eyeshadow Palette
This is the cutest little palette. This is actually smaller than the bronzing duo! Inside, there are 6 neutral-toned eyeshadows. 4 of the shadows are shimmery and 2 of them are matte.
The names are from left to right, top to bottom: Long Hot Summer I, Long Hot Summer II, Bellissima II, Long Hot Summer III, Long Hot Summer IV, and Bengali
I found the names kind of funny and un-original for NARS. However, that's not what matters right? Let's talk about the eyeshadows themselves. I love these eyeshadows and I love how compact this palette it. However, I feel like there's not a ton of versatility in looks with this. I can get maybe 2 or 3 different looks, but I feel like theres should've been one more matte or perhaps a different range of colors because I find some of them a little similar *cough cough, Long Hot Summer III and IV, cough cough*. If you don't mind having the option of 2 or 3 looks, I'd say this is great because I love the size! However, if you're like me... who likes to look different everyday, I find myself reaching for supplemental colors when I'm using this palette.

Well, there's my quick review and haul of some of the products from the new NARS Long Hot Summer Collection ! Let me know if you've tried these products and what you think of them :)

[Review] Memebox I'm Stick Shadow Swatches and Review

Monday, December 7, 2015

I promised this to you guys last week (I think!) but I got so busy I didn't have the chance to post about these! But now, here they are! The Memebox I'm Stick Shadow swatches and review! Right now they're $5 on sale! So check them out while you can :)

Let's get to the breakdown...

Packaging
These are packaged very simply and I love that. Plus, I like that the colors are at the bottom of the tubes so you know which shades you're picking up when it's been thrown in the midst of your makeup collection!
Last Ability/Pigmentation
These colors last all day and they look nice on the eyelids. The only thing that I find a little disappointing about them are the lighter colors (Milky Way, Falling Star). Unfortunately, they don't apply as smooth on the eyelids. It's hard to explain, but for some reason, they don't look as nice on the eyes as they do swatches. But I do love the darker colors (Spinal, Moonrise, Ash Stone).
Colors
Like I mentioned above, I really like the darker colors. Especially Spinal and Ash Stone. I think they look very nice and love that they have a bit of duo chrome to them.. nice and unique :)

 I'm Stick Shadow in Spinel
Do I know what they mean by spinel? No. But I do like this color! It has a beautiful, slight duo chrome to it. The base is a plum purple and the duo chrome is an indigo color. You can see this a bit in the swatch! This is probably one of my favorites out of the five shades I have!
 I'm Stick Shadow in Moonrise
This is a nice, toned-down copper color. The reason why I say that it's copper colored is because it's not spectacularly vivid, but that doesn't mean it's not a nice color. It would be great for those of you who are looking for a more natural bronze :)
I'm Stick Shadow in Milky Way
Like I mentioned above, this is one of the colors that I'm a little disappointed in. Don't get me wrong.. it's still a really nice color and applies fairly smooth, but it's just not as pretty on the eyes as it swatches. As you can see in the swatch, it has a bit of a pink under tone, which I wish more apparent on the lids. Like I said though, still not a terrible stick shadow.. I'm just picky ;)
I'm Stick Shadow in Ash Stone
This color is my other fave from the stick shadows I have. I like this because it makes a nice smokey base for darker looks, but it's not overwhelmingly hard to work with. I'm going to try to explain this, so I hope you know what I'm talking about. You know when you put a dark base on your eyelids and it gets messy/looks too dark? Well this is a happy medium. This color adds a nice smokey slate shade to your look, but isn't too black. Plus, look at that taupe under tone!
I'm Stick Shadow in Falling Star
I pretty much have the same thoughts about this shade as I do with the Milky Way shade. It's still a nice stick shadow, but I wish it looked as pretty on the eyes as it does in the swatch. When you apply it to your lids, you can't quite see that beautiful pink/peach under tone.

Well, there you go! Sorry it took a little longer than I was anticipating, but better late than never right!? Don't forget to check out my youtube channel, The Beauty Breakdown, where I do more video reviews and talk about other beauty-related topics :) Hope you're all doing well!

[Review] Etude House Princess Happy Ending Fairy Glitter Eyeshadow in 03 Evening Party

Wednesday, September 30, 2015

How can I deny anything involving beauty and Disney?! How gorgeous is this Etude House Princess Happy Ending Fairy Glitter Eyeshadow. Mine is in shade 03 Evening Party!

Let's get to the breakdown...
 Packaging
Ok, we already know that I love the packaging. It's a nice little jar, what else can I say :)
 Texture
This is a mix between a cream eyeshadow and a normal dry eyeshadow. It's super smooth and glides right on like a cream eyeshadow but has a powder finish!
 Shade
The shade I have in 03 Evening Party and it's a nice bronze color with pink and silver glitter. This picture is a pretty good depiction of what it looks like in real life!
 Last-Ability
This eyeshadow last all day, but does has some fallout towards the end of the day. This is because it does have glitter in it, which tends to create fall out. I still don't think it's terrible though and this can be helped with a good primer!

[Review] CLIO Gelpresso Waterproof Eyeshadow Stick in Bottoms Up

Monday, September 28, 2015

Clio is definitely emerging as one of my favorite Korean makeup brands. They're products are great, last all day, and look fantastic. Here's one of my recent favorites: the Clio Gelpresso Waterproof Eyeshadow Stick in Bottoms Up.

Let's get to the breakdown...

 Packaging
The packaging of this is very functional. It's simple and has the shade color on the tube, which is great when your rummaging through your makeup and trying to find it!
Shade
I have the shade in "Bottoms Up" and I love it. It's the perfect bronze color and looks amazing! I can't wait to try more shades of these because I'm sure they'll be amazing as well!
 Lasting Ability
This stays on all day like you wouldn't believe!! It definitely gives my makeup removers a run for their money.
 Blendability
This eyeshadow stick is creamy so it glides on nicely and doesn't pull at the skin. However, if you're planning on blending this out, do one eye at a time. This is because once it sets, this stuff doesn't budge.

[Review] Etude House Fantastic Color Eyes Rose Garden Palette 2015

Friday, September 25, 2015

How cute is this Etude House Fantastic Color Eyes Rose Garden Palette?! With all Etude House products, I'm obsessed with the packaging.... so let's see if what's inside is also just as great!

Let's get to the breakdown...

 Packaging
This palette is not only cute, but light and slim. Great for travel! Also, it has a functional mirror inside, which is always a definite plus!
Shades
The shades in this palette is exactly what's trendy in Korea right now! Koreans love nice peachy, pink, and coral colors because it makes you look cute and fresh. Also, most of the time when you apply these types of colors, it doesn't weigh down your face! Instead, it makes everything look brighter. So I'm pretty happy with these shades. I'd also like to add, it's nice to see a good mix of mattes, shimmers, and glitters.
Blendability
These shades are all super blendable and apply nicely. It doesn't take too much effort to work with this shades.
 Color Payoff
These eyeshadows are great quality as well! They are smooth and are nice and opaque on the eyes. I also really appreciate the mix in finishes. Sometimes it's hard to find Korean brands doing this (especially with matte shades!). Like I mentioned above, there's a nice range of shimmers, mattes, and glitters. The shades below (from right to left) are: Juliette (shimmer), Honey Bouquet (glitter), Antique Touch (shimmer), Hand Tied (matte), Vintage Rose (shimmer), and My Girl (matte)
I used this palette in my Korean one brand tutorial, so check it out if you want to see this palette in action!
