[Review] Memebox Urban Lady Lip and Cheek in Londoner and Dresdner

Friday, September 18, 2015

I've had these for about a month and thought it was time I did a quick review on them :) They are part of the Memebox Urban Lady Collection and you can use them on both your lips and cheeks!

Let's get to the breakdown...
Packaging
Unlike other Memebox exclusive products, you can actually see the shades of the products without having to open them! Well, kind of. My shades are so similar that I still have a hard time telling them apart without opening them. haha. But I like how sleek they are, plus I love the doe-foot applicator on these lip and cheek products. They are pointed, which helps making the application of these more accurate.

Shades
I have shades 04 Dresdner and 05 Londoner. I like these colors a lot, especially Dresdner. It's a nice deep red and it's actually very wearable and looks great with all makeup looks. Although, I do love both shades altogether.
 Consistency
These are SO creamy. I the consistency of these products because they just glide onto my lips. I prefer to use this on my lips because I think it's a little difficult to blend onto my cheeks. I have to work fast and I'd rather just use cream blush or other blushers and not have to worry about blending it out.
The bottom red shade is Dresdner and the orange shade is Londoner
 Lasting Ability
These products last about 3-4 hours, but you have to reapply after that. This is because they're not necessarily lip stains, but more creamy lip products. So yes, they wear off but reapplying them isn't too difficult. This is because of that great applicator! I love it!

Japanese Skincare: TATCHA Skincare Collection Haul and Review

Wednesday, September 16, 2015

When I was contacted from TATCHA, I was immediately intrigued because I've never tried any Japanese skincare before. I did a little research and found out the basis behind this skincare line are the beauty secrets of Japanese geisha. WOW! How exciting :)

All of TATCHA's products feature ingredients that are unique to different areas of Japan and were historically used by Japanese geisha. With that being said...

Let's get to the breakdown...
Let's talk about the packaging first because that's our first impression of any beauty product right?! :) The packaging of all the products are beautiful. Not only is the actual packaging of each product amazing, but the actual box it comes in is amazing. You can tell the company put a lot of thought into the box itself as well (I would hope so at least considering these are pricey products!) Each product has a slide out, where the product sits incased in a beautiful sheet of paper that entails all of the details about each product (pictured below).
Luminous Dewy Skin Mist
As I said, the product comes in this magnificent little box! It's super fancy and would make an impressive (and expensive!) gift. I like that the little paper tells you what's unique about each product and how to use it. All of the products have this, but I only pictured the mist because I didn't want this post to be too repetitive! Anyways, back to the mist. I love this mist and think it's extremely unique. The product inside is milky instead of clear and gives the skin a beautiful sheen. It's almost like you have a dewy filter on your skin when you apply it. Looks very natural and I have yet to see another product like this. However, it does come in a decently heavy glass bottle, so I wouldn't say this is travel friendly.
Indigo Soothing Triple Recovery Cream
This cream is formulated for sensitive skin and actually contains real indigo! You can see this in the shade of the cream because it's a nice blue color. It's supposed to not only moisturize, but also help aging skin. I have to say, this is a nice, thick cream that does a great job at moisturizing, but I don't really like the scent. I can't really describe how it smells but I'm used to my moisturizers smelling fresh, natural, sweet, something pleasant, or nothing at all. This doesn't really smell like any of that. I might be crazy but I'm just being honest!
Gold Camellia Nourishing Lip Balm
Now this is fancy. This is a lip balm with REAL gold leaf on the top. Honestly, I haven't tried this yet and you have to be careful with touching the gold on top because it sticks right to your finger and comes off. Evidently, you're supposed to mix the gold leaf in for a shiny effect on your lips. But this is pretty dang gimicky for me because it's expensive! So I'll try this and let you know if it's worth the bougie-ness and the price!
Polished Gentle Rice Enzyme Powder
I love this!! This is probably my favorite product out of the bunch! While there are products like this in Korea, it's hard to find them in the United States. So I love that you can just run down to Sephora and pick this up. Also, you can buy a travel size of this and see if it's worth investing in the full-size (as you can with some other TATCHA products). This is a nice, gentle exfoliator that does wonders on my dry skin. It makes my skin look so healthy and feels really nice. Plus, I totally believe this is great for preserving the youthfulness of your skin because rice has always been an ingredient that Koreans swear by as well :)
Pure One Step Camellia Cleansing Oil
I recently demo-ed and reviewed this in my Beauty Battle Breakdown of Cleansing Oils and Balms. This did well against the others and I have to say, this makes my skin feel nice. It removes my makeup well and then turns into a milky wash when you rinse it off. Plus, it has a lovely smell :)
Luminous Deep Hydration Lifting Mask
This is another super fancy item from TATCHA. I haven't tried it yet (obviously) but I'm honestly shocked at how expensive this is! At also $30 USD, I hope this thing works wonders! Again, when I try it, I'll let you know but I'll be honest, this better make me look like Angeline Jolie for that price tag for something you use once. I guess it could be considered a substitute for going and getting a facial at a spa...

Anyways, what do you guys think? Have you tried any TATCHA products yourself? Hope you're doing well :)

Korean Beauty Haul From SokoGlam! Skincare, Makeup and Hair Products!

Monday, September 14, 2015

Hey there! Welcome back to my blog :) In today's post, I'll be talking about Sokoglam and my recent haul from them!

Let's get to the breakdown...

Look at all the goodies! The little bag in the back is actually something I received at KCON when I stopped by their booth to see the notorious Charlotte Cho (by the way, her book is coming out in November! I already pre-ordered mine and I can't wait to get it!)

Banila Co. Clean it Zero Purity
I LOVE the original Banila Co Clean it Zero. If you've been living under a rock, this is one of Banila Co's best sellers and it is the easiest way to remove your makeup! You save so much time and effort using these to emulsify your makeup before washing it off. This one is designed for more sensitive skin types. I have really dry skin so I'm interested in seeing if this performs better than the original one!
KLAIRS Pure Vitamin C Vitamin Drop Serum
I made a video already featuring this product because I find it so interesting. It's really difficult to preserve vitamin c, but this serum has one of the highest concentrations of it! How cool?! This absorbs nicely into the skin and would be really nice during the winter months because it's a serum that's slightly thicker than normal serums.
Here's the video I featured this product in!

Skinfood Extra Virgin Olive Hair Essence
I have yet to try a Korean hair serum and I love serums for my hair since it's so dry. Oil-y type of products seem to work best in my hair and help keep it under control. Plus, it has olive oil in it, which is one of my favorite ingredients for beauty products.
Banila Co It Radiant Lace Hydrogel Mask Sheet
I've seen pictures of people using this sheet mask and I have to say, it's one of the prettiest sheet masks I've ever see! And that's saying a lot considering sheet masks always look awkward. I want to use it but I don't want to open it... it's so pretty! But when I use this, I'll be sure to let you know how it goes! And I need to see if I'll want to buy more of these while I'm in Korea later this month :)
KLAIRS Rich Moist Soothing Sheet Mask
This will be the first Klairs mask I've tried so fingers crossed :) So far, I've been fairly impressed with their products so I think it'll be good!
Samples!
These are samples I was sent and also some of the samples that were in the little goodie bag I got at KCON :) Thought I'd throw them in there!
\
Overall, I love Sokoglam. Fast shipping, reasonable prices and I like how there's also the KLOG, where Charlotte Cho discusses skincare. She's definitely extremely knowledge about everything K-Beauty so I personally love reading what she has to say! Hope you guys are doing awesome!

The Travel Breakdown: Visiting Namsan Tower

Tuesday, September 8, 2015

So this is a post from my trip to Korea during the summer of 2014. In celebration of going back (I'm leaving at the end of Sept.), I'm going through my old photos and trying to wrap up on some posts I meant to write right when I came back! This post will be on my visit to Namsan Tower, or Seoul Tower :)

Let's get to the Travel Breakdown
To get to the top of the base at Namsan Tower, you can ride a cable car up. We took the cable car, which takes about 5 minutes if I remember correctly. It's been a while guys! I looked up how much the tickets are on the official Visit Korea website and it's only 6,300 won for a roundtrip ticket. That's about $5 USD! Definitely worth the beautiful view. As a tip, obviously try to get a spot by the window. They pack those suckers full!
At the base of Namsan Tower, there the famous lock christmas trees! At least, that's what they looked like to me. People place personal locks with their lovers on these trees in hopes of a long-lasting and happy relationship. A really nice and thoughtful thing to do if you are traveling with your significant other!
At the base, there are also a ton of other things to look at and do. Unfortunately, I didn't take a ton of pictures because I wanted to just enjoy the moment and not have to document ever step I took. From what I remember, they have souvenir shops, of course, an Olive Young, and places to eat.
This was one of the restaurants at the base of Namsan Tower. They were making delicious looking burgers. We didn't buy anything, but we did get popcorn inside the tower!
Again, I didn't take a ton of pictures :( The picture below is from the observatory inside Namsan Tower. Such an amazing view! The observatory is 360 degrees, so you can walk around and look at the beautiful views of Seoul! They also had some snacks and more souvenirs in this area to buy. You can also go a little higher and take an elevator higher up, but we were satisfied with our view and still had several things we wanted to do before we left Korea!
Anyways, I hope that was fun for you guys! Just writing these posts gets me excited for my next trip so it's a great way to get ready for my trip to Seoul. Like I said, I'll be there in just a few short weeks, so be sure to leave comments below of places you'd like me to visit and write about/vlog :) Hope you guys are happy and healthy as always!

Let's get to the breakdown
I made this nice little graphic to describe how to achieve this look! Although, I would refer to the video above if you're confused or need more thorough directions.

[Review] Innisfree Long Wear Cushion Foundation 23 True Beige Korean Makeup Review

Saturday, September 5, 2015

This is the follow up post for the First Impressions I did on my channel, The Beauty Breakdown, and a write-up of the review that I did of the Innisfree Long Wear Cushion Foundation. My shade in particular is shade 23 True Beige.

Let's get to the breakdown....
Packaging
As with all Korean cushion foundations, this product comes in a compact format. Please excuse my dirty ass cushion pad. haha. I need to wash it. The packaging is nice and sleek and a bit slimmer that other cushion foundations, making it great for carrying around with you.
Shade
If you're familiar with Korean foundations/bb creams/cc creams, you know that Korean cosmetics companies always make their foundation in lighter shade. The shade that I have is the darkest shade they off. Altogether, Innisfree offers 3 shades. It actually matches fine with my skin as long as I blend it down my neck a bit. For reference, I'm about an NC 25-30. Also, a little bronzer to help it blend in never hurts ;)
The left side (my right side) has the foundation applied. The other side is just bare.
This is the foundation all over my skin. As you can see, it's an ok match, and in person matches a bit better too.
Finish
This long wear cushion is the matte version. It's actually designed for people with oilier skin, but I still wanted to try it even though I have dry skin because I prefer matte foundations. This, however, was a little too dry on my skin. I had to apply a pretty heavy moisturizer underneath it so it would cling to my dry patches. Without a heavy moisturizer, I didn't like it because it emphasized how dry my skin it. However, with the moisturizer, it's a nice finish on me.
This was taken with a light moisturizer underneath. I don't know if you can tell from the pictures, but it would cling to the dryness on my forehead.
Blendability
This stuff sets pretty dang fast. Because of this, you have to work on one section of your face at a time. You can't pat it all over your face and then go back and blend. Work fast and in one area at a time!
Lasting-Ability
OMG. This stuff is incredible as far as it's lasting ability. It lasts all day and maintained it's matte-finish. I was so happy with this and even wore it on a day when the temperature was 105 degrees fahrenheit! Even though I was sweating and stuff, the makeup itself didn't move. It might wear quicker on oilier skin types, but if on my dry skin (with heavy moisturizer underneath) it excelled.
Overall
Packaging: *** (and a half)
Shade: ***
Finish: *** (and a half)
Blendability: ***
Last-Ability: *****
Overall: *** (and a half)

Just to sum everything up. I liked this foundation and will probably use it when it's hot. I know it's not meant for dry-skin types, but you can make it work by properly moisturizing your skin before applying it. On oily skins, I hear this is amazing as well, but I'm just speaking from my own experience and opinion!

Insider Beauty Korean Beauty Haul! CLIO, Missha, Goodal and more!

Hi guys. So I promise, I'm trying to be better about updating this blog. It's really difficult considering I run everything by myself and I'm planning my trip for Korea (I leave later this month!). Anyways, enough excuses. Here's the follow up post for the haul that I did from Insider Beauty.
Disclaimer: I was sent all these products from InsiderBeauty to review, but they're not paying me to review them. As always, you guys are very important to me so my reviews are always honest!

Let's get to the breakdown of the haul...
Missha Super Aqua Cell Renew Snail Sleeping Mask
I've said this a thousand times, but I love the idea of my skincare working overtime in my sleep. Who doesn't love the idea of waking up with amazing skin? This was sent to me as a recommendation from InsiderBeauty and we'll see if this lives up to the hype! It's part of Missha's super popular "Super Aqua" line and it also has snail filtrate in it so we'll see!
Primera Peeling Facial Mild Broccoli Sprout Peeling Gel
I've been trying to test out of bunch of peeling gels for you guys so I can recommend some so this is definitely a contender. Don't worry about the broccoli sprout idea though! It smells very nice :)
 Leaders Insolution Moisturizing Recovery Mask
I've actually tried these masks before these two were sent to me and I can say that I already really like them! They're gel masks, so they hold hydration longer that standard sheet masks. Also, if you've never used these before, be sure to remove the film from BOTH sides. I did know this the first time I used it and accidentally left one film on and couldn't figure out why it was so stiff.lol.
Leaders Insolution Baby Soft Hand Mask
I can't wait to try these! I've never tried hand masks and have always been fascinated by them since I suffer from perpetually dry skin from my obsessive hand-washing.
Peri's Tint Crayon in #04 Fruity Love
This color is so nice for the summer! It's such a lovely pink color and the formula is actually nice and moisturizing as well. I love this because my lips are forever dry :(
Banila Co. Clean it Zero Cleansing Balm
This is a holy grail item for me. This is the BEST makeup remover I've ever used. My mom even loves this stuff and when we visit Korea at the end of this month, we'll probably buy, like, 20 tubs.
The texture is so smooth and just emulsifies as soon as it touches your skin. I actually ENJOY removing my makeup when I use this!
Goodal Mild Protect Watery Sun Cream 30 SPF
Goodal is a brand I've never tried and they focus on "fermented beauty". I don't know what to think about this because it's intimidating thinking I'm putting rotten things on my face... but considering I've tried scarier things (ahem, snail slime anyone?) I'm actually ready to try this! Plus, I can always use sunscreens :)
CLIO Kill Black Pen Liner and Gelpresso Waterproof Shadow in "Bottoms Up"
These are the gems of this haul! Last but not least, I'd like to present to you these beauties from CLIO! I'm really starting to LOVE CLIO products and think I'll buy a bunch of stuff from the while I'm in Korea. These both last all day are glide right onto my eyelids... just like they were meant to be there :)
Want to see how the liner performs and a formal review! Check out my video on it!
Anyways guys, I hope you enjoyed this haul! I've been doing a lot of haul posts lately, but fear not, I'll be back to posting other things soon!

xoxo,
Morgan

PS. Just wanted to say I LOVE you guys :)
