[Review] Innisfree Long Wear Cushion Foundation 23 True Beige Korean Makeup Review

Saturday, September 5, 2015

This is the follow up post for the First Impressions I did on my channel, The Beauty Breakdown, and a write-up of the review that I did of the Innisfree Long Wear Cushion Foundation. My shade in particular is shade 23 True Beige.

Let's get to the breakdown....
Packaging
As with all Korean cushion foundations, this product comes in a compact format. Please excuse my dirty ass cushion pad. haha. I need to wash it. The packaging is nice and sleek and a bit slimmer that other cushion foundations, making it great for carrying around with you.
Shade
If you're familiar with Korean foundations/bb creams/cc creams, you know that Korean cosmetics companies always make their foundation in lighter shade. The shade that I have is the darkest shade they off. Altogether, Innisfree offers 3 shades. It actually matches fine with my skin as long as I blend it down my neck a bit. For reference, I'm about an NC 25-30. Also, a little bronzer to help it blend in never hurts ;)
The left side (my right side) has the foundation applied. The other side is just bare.
This is the foundation all over my skin. As you can see, it's an ok match, and in person matches a bit better too.
Finish
This long wear cushion is the matte version. It's actually designed for people with oilier skin, but I still wanted to try it even though I have dry skin because I prefer matte foundations. This, however, was a little too dry on my skin. I had to apply a pretty heavy moisturizer underneath it so it would cling to my dry patches. Without a heavy moisturizer, I didn't like it because it emphasized how dry my skin it. However, with the moisturizer, it's a nice finish on me.
This was taken with a light moisturizer underneath. I don't know if you can tell from the pictures, but it would cling to the dryness on my forehead.
Blendability
This stuff sets pretty dang fast. Because of this, you have to work on one section of your face at a time. You can't pat it all over your face and then go back and blend. Work fast and in one area at a time!
Lasting-Ability
OMG. This stuff is incredible as far as it's lasting ability. It lasts all day and maintained it's matte-finish. I was so happy with this and even wore it on a day when the temperature was 105 degrees fahrenheit! Even though I was sweating and stuff, the makeup itself didn't move. It might wear quicker on oilier skin types, but if on my dry skin (with heavy moisturizer underneath) it excelled.
Overall
Packaging: *** (and a half)
Shade: ***
Finish: *** (and a half)
Blendability: ***
Last-Ability: *****
Overall: *** (and a half)

Just to sum everything up. I liked this foundation and will probably use it when it's hot. I know it's not meant for dry-skin types, but you can make it work by properly moisturizing your skin before applying it. On oily skins, I hear this is amazing as well, but I'm just speaking from my own experience and opinion!

Korean Beauty Haul From PrettylilFace! Tony Moly, Innsifree, Etude House and More!

Wednesday, August 5, 2015

It's time for a haul!! I got these products from PrettylilFace and wanted to share what I got!
I included a lot of shipping information and other website information in the video, so be sure to watch it if you're curious!

\

I know some of you guys like to see pictures of the products, so I was sure to include it in this post!

Tony Moly Luminous Pure Aura CC Cream
I've been wanting to try this CC Cream to see if it gives you a nice dewy glow! We'll see how this works out and if it really does make your skin look luminious.

Innisfree Real Skin CC Cream
This is one of those color adjusting CC Creams... at least I'm pretty sure it is. What else would color control stand for?? Anyways, I'm really into Innisfree skincare, so I want to start branching into more of their makeup.

Etude House Zero Sebum Drying Powder
This is a translucent powder that is supposed to be great for those of you with oily skin. I really can't wait to put it to the test.. plus I have a feeling it's going to be somewhat similar to the ultra-famous Innisfree No Sebum Powder.
It comes with a cute little puff of course!

Etude House V-Line Slim Maker
I don't know if you've noticed too, but contouring has become much more popular in Korean beauty. However, instead of contouring yourself a new pair of cheekbones, it seems like the trend in Korea is to use contouring to make your jaw and face look slimmer. Either way, I'm happy to see more Korean brands come up with their own contouring powder!
Look how pretty the highlight is too! Plus it comes with a nice little brush :)
AHHH the design too! I'm sadly wearing it away as I use it :(

Skinfood Lettuce and Cucumber Watery Essence
I was looking for an essence that's a bit lighter because it's summer and I don't like apply heavy toners, serums and creams on top of each other. We'll see how I like this because it's supposed to be pretty nice!

Tony Moly Appletox Smooth Massage Peeling Cream
I love peeling gels and I know this one is a super popular one. Plus, it's more of a cream than gel so I wanted to see if this worked any differently!

Tony Moly Floria Brightening Peeling Gel
HOLY GRAIL ALERT! I've tried samples of this before and fell in love immediately. It literally makes my skin glow and look so luminous. I'll have to do a review on this for you guys :)

Innisfree Long Wear Cushion Foundation
I'm on the hunt for more cushion foundations and I heard rave reviews about this one. I've already done a first impressions on this, so definitely check out that video to how it worked for me!
I know, I can't seem to keep these cushion puffs neat. Oh well, makeup is messy right?! :)

Hope you enjoyed my haul! As always, don't forget to check out my youtube channel, The Beauty Breakdown, where I'll do more reviews and first impressions of these products!

I love this dress! I love the fit because it's so flattering! I love the mesh top, however, it's a little stiff. Hopefully with a little more washing, it'll soften up a little bit. I paired the dress with a necklace I bought from Forever 21!

The skirt is also from SheInside!
Here's the link to the skirt: http://goo.gl/pvxJ2W
I love this skirt because the bow makes it so cute! You can tie it in the back or the front and it really cinches in your waist. The blouse I'm wearing is from Forever 21, as well as the silver necklace! You can't really see the necklace, but I show you in the video :)

Top 10 Best Korean Cult / Must Have Skincare Products

Wednesday, March 18, 2015

So you're new to Korean skincare or you're just looking to try out some new products... I bet you're OVERWHELMED. When I first started looking into Korean skincare, I couldn't believe how many options there were. Between the different brands, lines, and products, I didn't know what to think! I knew I wanted to try some skincare products, but I literally didn't know where to start. After months of researching, I was prepared! I knew what was popular, what people enjoyed, and what were considered "cult favorites" in the Asian Beauty World.

I then traveled the Seoul, Korea with my list in hand...

And, well, that list went out the window. I bought everything I could get my hands on. (If you want to see the haul of what I bought, here is Part 1, Part 2, and Part 3. Yes, I had to split it up into 3 parts!)

But for those of you who don't want to do that, I complied a list of the Top 10 Korean Skincare Products that are notoriously popular in asian skincare. These are the products that I feel are the most raved about, and are a good outline of what to buy while in Korea! All of these products are tried, tested and true, and here are my honest opinions about them. BTW, if you have you're own recommendations, please comment below and share with the rest of us! Again, this is what seems to be the most popular Korean skincare products in my own personal opinion.

So let's get to the breakdown...

So I'm listing these products off in no particular order!

Etude House Wonder Pore Freshener
This one for me was difficult. I've heard so many good things about this product and I know a lot of people love it. However, it didn't work miracles for me. This is just your average toner in my opinion. It does remove makeup residue, oil and dirt from my skin, but this didn't change the appearance of my skin. But for some people, this is a Holy Grail type of product. That's why I included it in this list.

Nature Republic Aloe Vera Soothing Gel
I love this stuff when it gets hot where I live! It's nice because it's light and smells nice and fresh. It feels cooling and soothing when you apply it to your skin, which makes it great when it's hot. Since it's not super moisturizing, I usually only use this during the spring and summer, not really during the winter when my skin is more dry. Plus, you can use it on your face, skin, hair and nails so it has a ton of functions. It's also super cheap.

Missha Time Revolution The First Treatment Essence
This is something I use twice a day and love. It's nice and light, absorbs right into the skin, and really preps the skin for your skincare routine. I've definitely noticed a difference since I started using this product! It makes my skin look brighter and smoother. It also lasts a really long time!

This product is even Waffle-approved!

Innisfree Cleansing Foams
I love both of these cleansing foams. They have a nice, thick lather and really clean your skin. It also doesn't strip the skin of its moisture. Therefore, it's the perfect cleanser for me because it doesn't leave my dry skin feeling drier, but it makes my skin feel super squeaky clean! I also love Innisfree products because they try to use more natural ingredients.

Laneige Water Sleeping Pack_EX
This stuff is amazing. You apply if after you've finished your skincare routine at night, leave it on while you sleep, and wash it off in the morning. It makes your skin look nice and plump and really softens the skin. This is a super famous product and Target has even started carrying this brand! So it's much more accessible, which is nice.

Innisfree Super Volcanic Clay Mask
This is the ultimate clay mask for me! Clay masks are a must-have in general, but this one is by far my favorite. It does a good job of sucking out all of the debris from your skin without leaving your skin feeling tight and dry. I know a lot of people love and enjoy this product, and it's definitely a cult-fave!

The Face Shop Rice Water Rice Cleansing Water
This is another one of those products for me that I have mixed feelings about. It does an awesome job of cleaning your skin and getting makeup and oil out of your skin without needing to wash it off after. However, for me, it does feel a little sticky after I use this. I almost feel like I want to wash my skin after I use it, even though I know technically I don't have to. However, I know this is really popular in the Korean skincare world and people have compared it to the ultra-famous Bioderma. But personally, I'd take Bioderma over this any day. haha.

SkinFood Black Sugar Mask Wash Off
Boy, I love this stuff. It really makes my skin feels smooth and I love that you can dilute the sugar to your liking. Therefore, if you like a super abrasive exfoliant, you can apply a small amount of water or if you like a more gentle exfoliant, you can use more water to help melt the sugar granules. Either way, this stuff is great. Plus, my sister, who isn't that into skincare in general, loves this stuff too. I think that shows how good this product really is!

Innisfree Sheet Masks
Now, if you're going to Korea and really any Asian country, stock up on sheet masks! In Asia, these things are so much cheaper than they are elsewhere. I personally really like the ones from Innisfree. They are a nice pick-me-up when you're skin feels like it needs a little TLC, and a cheap way to treat yourself. They come in literally every "flavor" possible too!

SkinFood Milk Shake Point Make-up Remover
Everyone who wears makeup uses makeup remover. So this is a definite must have if you're ever going to Korea. I love SkinFood in general, but this stuff is awesome! It removes the most stubborn makeup with ease, even waterproof mascara. Plus, it doesn't burn your eyes or delicate skin!

Anyways, there's my quick list of the Top 10 Korean Cult / Must Have Skincare Products. Do you agree with this list or what would you add? It was definitely difficult to narrow down because let's face it, I love Korean skincare in general. Who knows, maybe I'll have a completely different list a year from now and need to make a new list. And yes, I am working on the Makeup version of this, however, it's much more difficult for me to narrow down!

Hope this was helpful! :)

BIG Korean Beauty Haul Part 2 ♥ Holika Holika, Skinfood, Innisfree and MORE! 큰 한국 비우티 하울 팔트2

Wednesday, January 28, 2015

Anyeong! Here's part two to my recent BIG Korean Beauty Haul! Like I mentioned in the previous post, I bought all of these things from BeautyNetKorea! Check out the Part 1 of the haul if you haven't already!

Like I did before, I always like to include pictures of the products because I think they're fun to look at :)

I bought the Innisfree Green Tea Mineral Mist because I like the idea of a little pick-me-up. This is great to prep your skin before skincare or makeup or to freshen up your makeup. SO many purposes!

I always need makeup remover to I picked up the Etude House Eye and Lip Makeup Remover. Not too expensive and I've heard good things.

This is another makeup remover I've heard good things about! It's the Innisfree Apple Juicy Lip and Eye Makeup Remover!

I picked this up on a whim because I love Skinfood's Red Orange line. It's the Red Orange Sun Pact

I plan on using this as my carry around powder in my purse because it's a fairly small compact. I've never tried anything from this brand, but the EGLIPS Blur Powder Pact sounded promising.

Secret Key's Argan Angel Moisture Steam Cream seemed really nice as well and I also wanted to just see what steam creams are! It's in Blugarian Rose I believe.

This definitely caught my eye. It's Holika Holika's Pro Beauty Bloody Tint Oil Tint in Vampire Kiss. I liked the concept that it's seperated (the oil and color) and that's it's supposed to give you that vampire look :)

I was obsessed when Etude House came out with their princess line, but couldn't pick up any at first :( I finally got my hands on one product though! it's the Princess Happy Ending Cinderella Fairy Glitter Eyeshadow. Look how gorgeous!

I've never tried anything from Benton, but wanted to try something with Bee Venom in it. From what I gather, Benton is famous for their bee products? I'm not really sure but either way I got this Snail Bee High Content Essence!

I finally used up my old eye cream so I bought Mizon's Multi Function Formula Snail Repair Eye Cream. Like Benton is famous for bee products, Mizon is famous for snail products. I have high hopes!

These are definitely famous in Korea! They're the Holika Holika Jewel Light Waterproof Eyeliners. I got a couple colors because I heard such good things and they're pretty cheap (around 4-5 dollars)!  I got them in the colors #16 Black Plum, #11 Light Brown Amber, #03 Lapis Rajulri, and #08 Pink Topaz.

I'm obsessed with glittery eyeliner and thought if the other Holika Holika eyeliners are such a hit, this liquid one must be pretty good too. It's the Jewel Light Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner in #4.

This was a freebie they threw in! It's the Tony Moly Tony Tint Delight in No. 2

Finally, I picked up 10 of these The Face Shop Foot Peeling Masks. My mom loves them and they're super expensive on other websites. These were literally a third of the price my mom has paid for these in the past!

Well that's it! Stay tuned for reviews on these! I can't wait to try these out :) Let me know what you think of the haul and if you've tried any of these yourself! Love you all!!

xoxo, Morgan
