[Review] Clio Kill Black Pen Liner

Saturday, October 3, 2015

So I decided to do a full post and video review because I felt this product deserved it. It's one of my holy grail products and I know it's holy grail material from a lot of other people too! It's the CLIO Kill Black Pen Liner!

Let's get to the breakdown...

So besides the couple of pictures I'll upload in this post, I'm going to let the video speak for itself. Overall, this pen liner is amazing. I have the felt tip version and I know there's also a brush tip version. The brush tip is cheaper. It's so accurate and is great for those of you who are just starting out with liquid liner. There's so much control to this tip and it's so opaque! Plus, this liner lasts all day. There's nothing I don't love about this liner!
You can also achieve thick or thin lines with this. So in the inner corner of your eye, you can get really close to the lash line and also make a nice thick wing :)

[Review] Etude House Princess Happy Ending Fairy Glitter Eyeshadow in 03 Evening Party

Wednesday, September 30, 2015

How can I deny anything involving beauty and Disney?! How gorgeous is this Etude House Princess Happy Ending Fairy Glitter Eyeshadow. Mine is in shade 03 Evening Party!

Let's get to the breakdown...
 Packaging
Ok, we already know that I love the packaging. It's a nice little jar, what else can I say :)
 Texture
This is a mix between a cream eyeshadow and a normal dry eyeshadow. It's super smooth and glides right on like a cream eyeshadow but has a powder finish!
 Shade
The shade I have in 03 Evening Party and it's a nice bronze color with pink and silver glitter. This picture is a pretty good depiction of what it looks like in real life!
 Last-Ability
This eyeshadow last all day, but does has some fallout towards the end of the day. This is because it does have glitter in it, which tends to create fall out. I still don't think it's terrible though and this can be helped with a good primer!

[Review] CLIO Gelpresso Waterproof Eyeshadow Stick in Bottoms Up

Monday, September 28, 2015

Clio is definitely emerging as one of my favorite Korean makeup brands. They're products are great, last all day, and look fantastic. Here's one of my recent favorites: the Clio Gelpresso Waterproof Eyeshadow Stick in Bottoms Up.

Let's get to the breakdown...

 Packaging
The packaging of this is very functional. It's simple and has the shade color on the tube, which is great when your rummaging through your makeup and trying to find it!
Shade
I have the shade in "Bottoms Up" and I love it. It's the perfect bronze color and looks amazing! I can't wait to try more shades of these because I'm sure they'll be amazing as well!
 Lasting Ability
This stays on all day like you wouldn't believe!! It definitely gives my makeup removers a run for their money.
 Blendability
This eyeshadow stick is creamy so it glides on nicely and doesn't pull at the skin. However, if you're planning on blending this out, do one eye at a time. This is because once it sets, this stuff doesn't budge.

[Review] Etude House Fantastic Color Eyes Rose Garden Palette 2015

Friday, September 25, 2015

How cute is this Etude House Fantastic Color Eyes Rose Garden Palette?! With all Etude House products, I'm obsessed with the packaging.... so let's see if what's inside is also just as great!

Let's get to the breakdown...

 Packaging
This palette is not only cute, but light and slim. Great for travel! Also, it has a functional mirror inside, which is always a definite plus!
Shades
The shades in this palette is exactly what's trendy in Korea right now! Koreans love nice peachy, pink, and coral colors because it makes you look cute and fresh. Also, most of the time when you apply these types of colors, it doesn't weigh down your face! Instead, it makes everything look brighter. So I'm pretty happy with these shades. I'd also like to add, it's nice to see a good mix of mattes, shimmers, and glitters.
Blendability
These shades are all super blendable and apply nicely. It doesn't take too much effort to work with this shades.
 Color Payoff
These eyeshadows are great quality as well! They are smooth and are nice and opaque on the eyes. I also really appreciate the mix in finishes. Sometimes it's hard to find Korean brands doing this (especially with matte shades!). Like I mentioned above, there's a nice range of shimmers, mattes, and glitters. The shades below (from right to left) are: Juliette (shimmer), Honey Bouquet (glitter), Antique Touch (shimmer), Hand Tied (matte), Vintage Rose (shimmer), and My Girl (matte)
I used this palette in my Korean one brand tutorial, so check it out if you want to see this palette in action!

Beauteque September BB Bag: Soothing Spa

Wednesday, September 23, 2015

This post will be a review of Beauteque's September BB Bag, which is themed as "Soothing Spa"! Sounds amazing right?! Well, I'm actually pretty excited to share with you guys what's in the bag because there are definitely some interesting things in this bag.
Just a quick backstory, I've done a couple review of Beauteque in the past, so if check those out if you're interested! Beauteque is a subscription bag service that sends you asian beauty products every month! I personally love the idea of this, because you get to try products you might not have picked out yourself and it's more affordable than buying the products individually. Plus, if you find a product you like in particular, you can buy the individual product on their website! So Beauteque Monthly is where you can find the subscription serve and Beauteque is where you can find the individual products.

Let's get to the breakdown...

These bags always include a card inside that has the theme of the bag, an explanation of the products, and how much they're valued at!

The Saem Mint Jungle Foot Cream ($12 value)
This stuff is so nice! My heels have been so dry since I've been wearing sandals a lot, so I definitely need a product like this! This is a nice, thick cream that has a wonderful tingly sensation. Talk about refreshing!
Aritaum Aloe No Wash Cleansing Water ($22 value)
I love aloe products and these type of cleansing waters are awesome. This removes your makeup quick and easy and there's no need to rinse afterwards! What is this good for? If you're traveling, aren't by a sink, or are just feeling lazy, you can use this to quickly remove your makeup and cleanse your skin! Super convenient!!
Inner Kallia Special Care Modeling Pack ($6 value)
This is the coolest product in the bag! I've never tried a mask like this! It was so fun. As you can see in my video, it dries on your skin and you peel if off! Unlike other peeling masks, this does not feel like you're ripping your skin off. I've had peeling masks that make me feel like I'm waxing my face when I'm removing them. This just comes right off!
Modeling Pack Bowl with Stirrer ($5 value)
This is for the mask above! Since you have to mix the mask with water, you can use this bowl and spatula to mix it in... they think of everything. haha
Acqua Gems Herbal Soothing Cream ($18 value)
Evidently, you can use this pretty much everywhere. It's a super nourishing product that absorbs right into the skin. I read on the card you can use this on your hands... I have really dry hands from washing them so much so thank goodness! This makes my cuticles nice and pretty :)
Secret Key Secret Kiss Holic Pigment in Glittering Gold ($8 value)
When I opened the bag, I was so happy to see this! I actually own one of these but in a different color and I LOVE it! These are so sparkly and beautiful and I love the color range!
 Travel Bag
Finally, there's the bag! I'm going to Korea (tonight actually) and I'm going to use this to put all my electronic cords/chargers in! I love the colors of the bag... my favorite colors: pink and teal :D

So there you go! So grab yourself one and we can all have our own spa day :D haha. Hope you're all doing well!

[Review] Etude House V-Line Slim Maker Shade Powder

Monday, September 21, 2015

Today I'll be review the Etude House V-Line Slim Maker in #1 Sun Gold/Wood Brown. I got this in my PrettyLilFace Haul and I thought this little gem deserved a formal review!

Let's get to the breakdown...

 Packaging
This is an Etude House product. So obviously, I love the packaging. It's also nice and slim with a nice mirror so it's great for travel. It even comes with a brush (which I didn't picture :( )
 Shade
This is a great shading powder for those of you who have fair skin or who are looking for something that is low maintenance. I say this because it's not the darkest or most obvious shading powder. However, this ends up being great because it's build-able. So you can add more for a more obvious contoured look, or apply it normally and get a great daily look. You don't have to worry about being to heavy-handed or looking muddy. Also, the highlighter is beautiful. So natural and doesn't have obvious chunks of glitter. I wish the swatches did this product more justice but since this was swatched on my hand (which is much darker than my face) the contour blended in with my skin. I've used this is tutorials though so if you're dying to see it in action, check them out :)
 Lasting-Ability
As long as you have a primer and a long-lasting foundation, this will last all day. This is because, or course, if your foundation wears off, this will have nothing to stick to!
 Consistency
This powder is very smooth so I love that about this powder :) Goes onto the skin nicely and doesn't look blotchy!

[Review] Memebox Urban Lady Lip and Cheek in Londoner and Dresdner

Friday, September 18, 2015

I've had these for about a month and thought it was time I did a quick review on them :) They are part of the Memebox Urban Lady Collection and you can use them on both your lips and cheeks!

Let's get to the breakdown...
Packaging
Unlike other Memebox exclusive products, you can actually see the shades of the products without having to open them! Well, kind of. My shades are so similar that I still have a hard time telling them apart without opening them. haha. But I like how sleek they are, plus I love the doe-foot applicator on these lip and cheek products. They are pointed, which helps making the application of these more accurate.

Shades
I have shades 04 Dresdner and 05 Londoner. I like these colors a lot, especially Dresdner. It's a nice deep red and it's actually very wearable and looks great with all makeup looks. Although, I do love both shades altogether.
 Consistency
These are SO creamy. I the consistency of these products because they just glide onto my lips. I prefer to use this on my lips because I think it's a little difficult to blend onto my cheeks. I have to work fast and I'd rather just use cream blush or other blushers and not have to worry about blending it out.
The bottom red shade is Dresdner and the orange shade is Londoner
 Lasting Ability
These products last about 3-4 hours, but you have to reapply after that. This is because they're not necessarily lip stains, but more creamy lip products. So yes, they wear off but reapplying them isn't too difficult. This is because of that great applicator! I love it!

Japanese Skincare: TATCHA Skincare Collection Haul and Review

Wednesday, September 16, 2015

When I was contacted from TATCHA, I was immediately intrigued because I've never tried any Japanese skincare before. I did a little research and found out the basis behind this skincare line are the beauty secrets of Japanese geisha. WOW! How exciting :)

All of TATCHA's products feature ingredients that are unique to different areas of Japan and were historically used by Japanese geisha. With that being said...

Let's get to the breakdown...
Let's talk about the packaging first because that's our first impression of any beauty product right?! :) The packaging of all the products are beautiful. Not only is the actual packaging of each product amazing, but the actual box it comes in is amazing. You can tell the company put a lot of thought into the box itself as well (I would hope so at least considering these are pricey products!) Each product has a slide out, where the product sits incased in a beautiful sheet of paper that entails all of the details about each product (pictured below).
Luminous Dewy Skin Mist
As I said, the product comes in this magnificent little box! It's super fancy and would make an impressive (and expensive!) gift. I like that the little paper tells you what's unique about each product and how to use it. All of the products have this, but I only pictured the mist because I didn't want this post to be too repetitive! Anyways, back to the mist. I love this mist and think it's extremely unique. The product inside is milky instead of clear and gives the skin a beautiful sheen. It's almost like you have a dewy filter on your skin when you apply it. Looks very natural and I have yet to see another product like this. However, it does come in a decently heavy glass bottle, so I wouldn't say this is travel friendly.
Indigo Soothing Triple Recovery Cream
This cream is formulated for sensitive skin and actually contains real indigo! You can see this in the shade of the cream because it's a nice blue color. It's supposed to not only moisturize, but also help aging skin. I have to say, this is a nice, thick cream that does a great job at moisturizing, but I don't really like the scent. I can't really describe how it smells but I'm used to my moisturizers smelling fresh, natural, sweet, something pleasant, or nothing at all. This doesn't really smell like any of that. I might be crazy but I'm just being honest!
Gold Camellia Nourishing Lip Balm
Now this is fancy. This is a lip balm with REAL gold leaf on the top. Honestly, I haven't tried this yet and you have to be careful with touching the gold on top because it sticks right to your finger and comes off. Evidently, you're supposed to mix the gold leaf in for a shiny effect on your lips. But this is pretty dang gimicky for me because it's expensive! So I'll try this and let you know if it's worth the bougie-ness and the price!
Polished Gentle Rice Enzyme Powder
I love this!! This is probably my favorite product out of the bunch! While there are products like this in Korea, it's hard to find them in the United States. So I love that you can just run down to Sephora and pick this up. Also, you can buy a travel size of this and see if it's worth investing in the full-size (as you can with some other TATCHA products). This is a nice, gentle exfoliator that does wonders on my dry skin. It makes my skin look so healthy and feels really nice. Plus, I totally believe this is great for preserving the youthfulness of your skin because rice has always been an ingredient that Koreans swear by as well :)
Pure One Step Camellia Cleansing Oil
I recently demo-ed and reviewed this in my Beauty Battle Breakdown of Cleansing Oils and Balms. This did well against the others and I have to say, this makes my skin feel nice. It removes my makeup well and then turns into a milky wash when you rinse it off. Plus, it has a lovely smell :)
Luminous Deep Hydration Lifting Mask
This is another super fancy item from TATCHA. I haven't tried it yet (obviously) but I'm honestly shocked at how expensive this is! At also $30 USD, I hope this thing works wonders! Again, when I try it, I'll let you know but I'll be honest, this better make me look like Angeline Jolie for that price tag for something you use once. I guess it could be considered a substitute for going and getting a facial at a spa...

Anyways, what do you guys think? Have you tried any TATCHA products yourself? Hope you're doing well :)

xoxo,
Morgan
