[Review] Maybelline Pure BB Mineral Cushion BB Fresh Review

Friday, March 4, 2016

I have been dying to get my hands on this. Luckily, I just happened to have a friend going to China so I made sure she picked the up for me. Sorry to review something that's a little hard to find at the moment, but I'm thinking maybe we can encourage Maybelline to release their Pure BB Mineral Cushion BB Fresh globally :)

Let's get to the breakdown...

The packaging is very simple looking. I actually really like that is a very clean design. The cushion bb cream can be popped out of the packaging so I assume you can get refills for this :) Unfortunately, I can't read the box itself because as you can see in the pictures it's in Chinese and Japanese... which I can't understand. haha.
I got mine in shade 02. For reference sake, I'm about an NC 20-25 in MAC foundations. This shade is a PERFECT match for my skin. It has a nice yellow undertone, which makes it looks super natural. Since this is from Asia, I was worried it was going to have the typical white, ghostly cast that a lot of Asian foundations have but this doesn't :) Unfortunately, there are only two shades available which is a definite letdown.
This has a fairly high coverage for a bb cushion. I would say this is one of the highest coverage bb cushions I've tried! I love it. You can see my freckle in the pictures below to see the coverage!
The finish of the Maybelline Pure BB Mineral Cushion BB Fresh is very natural looking. I like that it's not too dewy so you don't look like an oil slick but it's also not too matte, which can make you look lifeless.
Without a primer, concealer and powder, this bb cushion lasts a good 6-7 hours on my skin. Keep in mind my skin is dry so I don't have to retouch with powder throughout the day too often. I tried it with a primer, concealer and powder and it lasted pretty nicely the whole day. I'm pretty happy with how this looks at the end of the day. Check out my video review to see exactly what it looked like!

Mini Korean Beauty Haul: 3CE, Biege, and A True Makeup and Skincare

Thursday, March 3, 2016

Hellooooo everybody! I wanted to do a follow up post of my most recent K-Beauty Haul! I had fun checking out this website, surfing through the pages, and looking at the different products and brands I'd never tried before. I was particularly interested in Cupidrop because they carry a lot of brands that are harder to find including 3CE! The only other websites that I've found 3CE are either way overpriced or kill you in the shipping department. So I was happy to see Cupidrop is a good option for those of us living in the United States!

Let's get to the breakdown...

A True Sweet Song Black Tea One-Step Cleansing Water
I'm always down to try cleansing waters! Lately, I've been using them as an extra cleansing step, particularly to remove excess makeup on my neck and chest at the end of the day. This one I found really interesting because instead of being water-based, it's actually black tea water based. I like how gentle this is on my skin and it seems very effective!
A True Black Tea All Day Long Sun Cream
I burn through sunscreen like crazy. I wear it everyday and it's super important that you are too! Protect that skin!! Anyways, this is a nice sunscreen for those of you with dry skin because it's a little thicker. I feel like it moisturizes my skin while it's protecting it. However, I wouldn't recommend this for oily-skinned people because it's probably a little too heavy.
Beige 3 Seconds Perfect Eye Remover
Ok, let's get things straight. This is a makeup remover. It does not remove your eyes. haha. This is an oil-based remover and you have to shake it before using. It does remove my makeup very quickly and I like how gentle this is. It also does not leave any residue behind!
 3CE Highlighter in #BlingPeach
I was really confused with this product at first. When you initially touch it with your finger, this powder seems to be chunky and rough. I didn't think I was going to be impressed by this. However, when you use a brush and apply this to your cheeks, it is B.E.A.utiful! I love this. It looks amazing and I've been obsessed with it ever since I got it! If you're curious to see what this looks like on my skin, check out my video above! I'm wearing it :)
Alright friends! That's my mini Korean Beauty haul from Cupidrop! Let me know if you tried any other products from these brands and what you'd recommend! I'm always looking for new, amazing products :)

[Review] Etude House Lash Perm All Shockara Mascara Review

I LOVE mascara and boyyyy am I picky with them. On top of that, we all know my deep love for Etude House and their makeup products. There are very few makeup products from Etude House that I don't love. So when it came to trying the Etude House Lash Perm All Shockara Mascara, I thought it would be a home run. Well was it? You'll just have to read on :)

Let's get to the breakdown...

I love that a lot of Etude House's makeup products match. Notice that the cap of the mascara has a similar design to their lipsticks! I love that.
I was actually really excited to try this wand because I was thinking I was going to be blown away by its separating powers. However, I was sadly let down. Since this wand is plastic, it doesn't carry a lot of the actual mascara on it. So when I use this wand to apply the mascara to my lashes, it takes forever to actually coat my lashes. It does separate my lashes really well, but I just don't like how long it takes to try to build the mascara up. Also, notice in the picture of the wand by my eye, the wand doesn't have any bristles on the end. This makes getting the lashes on the outer corner of my eye almost impossible! Not a fan...
On top of having a hard time applying the actual mascara to my lashes because of the wand, the formula of this mascara is SUPER dry. This is actually probably one of the driest mascaras I've ever tried. So that makes building it up on my lashes very difficult.
You can see in the pictures below that my lashes look... almost the same. Like I mentioned above, I actually do like how this mascara separates my lashes. However, it doesn't add volume, length, or darkness to my lashes. Can you tell a difference? Lol.
I was SUPER disappointed by this mascara. Honestly, I'm surprised Etude House is still able to sell this mascara because it just doesn't do what it's supposed to do. It's not shocking at all... in fact... this mascara is shockingly bad! Too harsh? Well, at least I'm honest right ;)

[Review] Gram Double Chemi Ban Ban Pack First Impressions!

Monday, February 29, 2016

Hi everyone! So I get a lot of requests to do reviews on products that are designed for different skin types. While that's a bit difficult, since everyone is different, I do my best to help everyone out and show products that address a wide range of concerns. Today, I'll be reviewing the Gram Double Chemi Ban Ban Pack, which is designed for combination skin.

Let's get to the breakdown...

The packaging of this product is a tub with two sections inside. It separates the two different masks inside.
The green side is the detoxifying/purifying side. It sucks out all the impurities from the skin and helps level out sebum production. The main ingredients that help with this are bentonite, green tea, lemon balm leaf, applemint leaf extract, tea tree and broccoli. On the other side, you'll see an orange mask. This is made for drier parts of the face. The ingredients in this that make it effective are sweet almond oil, shea butter, papaya, buckthorn, rose hip and vanilla bean.

The green mask is meant for the t-zone since that is wear most people have an excess of oil production. The orange mask is meant for the u-zone, which tends to be more dry. Of course, you can apply these where ever your face is dry/oily. After leaving it on for 10-15 minutes (I usually wash the mask off before it dries completely) wash it off.

I did enjoy the 2-in-1 aspect. You can see in the close up pictures of my nose below that there is definitely less sebum on my nose. As for the moisturizing mask, I think it was nice but I've definitely used better moisturizing masks.
I think this is such a great multi-tasker! It's great for combination skin or if you skin tends to change during the different seasons (I'm pretty sure everyone's does!). I liked how it removed my excess sebum, but like I mentioned above, I have used more moisturizing masks. Overall, I think this is a nice mask to use if you don't feel like using multiple masks or if you want something that will address your skin's needs fairly well.
